When you think about art, you think about fun and messy creativity, not corporate and clean. Through the process of developing this logo, I really pushed myself out of my comfort zone. I started with designs that would be expected, but I didn’t love anything. Once I started playing with this cut paper look, I was having fun! The alpha glyphs reference some of the areas apart of the SVSU Art Department - painting and drawing, photography, and printmaking. The colors were chosen to be representative of the color wheel, with primary, secondary, and analogous colors. The logo is extremely versatile in many different colors. Perhaps each area of department could have a different color scheme. Overall, this logo is fun, playful, and creative - perfect for an art department!
